NCAA rules allow college football programs to officially send scholarship offers to high school seniors on August 1, and the Illinois staff sent out dozens of offers starting as early as just after midnight. Several prospects already committed to Illinois tweeted out offers, while some top targets also posted their official offer graphics on social media.
While prospects claim offers throughout the process, the official offers usually show which offers are actually committable as recruits enter their senior seasons.
The official scholarship offer graphic Illinois sent includes details of the offer and requirements for that offer to be committable. It reads:
“This full scholarship offer includes Tuition, fees, room, board and books; This is the maximum aid permitted by NCAA rules. This scholarship is subject to your meeting:
(1) All NCAA eligibility requirements
(2) All the admissions requirements
(3) Availability of scholarships remaining at your positions
(4) Our approval of your medical status”
Illinois currently has 14 commitments in the Class of 2021, 13 of which have come during the last three months.
The class currently ranks No. 59 in the country and No. 12 in the Big Ten, ahead of Michigan State and Purdue.
Illinois also has been very busy in the transfer portal. Illinois has added nine transfer commitments since April, including two this week: USC tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe and South Carolina State defensive tackle Roderick Perry.
While not every prospect tweets out every official scholarship offer, here are some of the Illinois targets and commits who tweeted out official scholarship offers this weekend.
