LEWISTON, ID - A local effort that has already sent care packages to over a thousand soldiers is looking for help to get packages to another 500 sailors. "We would like to send Christmas care packages and show them how much we appreciate their service to our great country," says a message from Eva Smathers to Big Country News.

Donations can be made at any P1FCU Branch to “Christmas Wishes to our Heroes Overseas”, or send to VFW Sourdough Post 10043, 1104 Warner Avenue, Lewiston, Idaho 83501. You can learn more about the effort at the group's Facebook page.
