We've all been in the situation where a sensitive piece of information such as a password needs to be shared with someone else. It's hard to do so in a completely secure way, but Bitwarden says it has solved that problem.
Bitwarden became popular recently by offering a password manager that attracted many LastPass users following recent changes to how LastPass Free works. Now the company is offering another service called Bitwarden Send as a "trusted way to securely share information directly with anyone."
Using a free Bitwarden account, it's possible to use Send to share a piece of text or a file with someone else. The person you are sending the information to will receive a link they can click to view the information. Security can be enhanced further by setting an expiration date and time as well as a password to protect the Send link. There's even the option to set a maximum access count, meaning after clicking the Send link a set number of times (or just once) it can't be used again.
A Bitwarden account also includes a password manager if you want to use it. There's also a Premium account for $10 per year offering 1GB of encrypted file storage, two-step login protection using YubiKey, and access to the Bitwarden Authenticator. A Family account is also available ($40 per year for six people), as are accounts for business users.
