KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - People, schools and organizations across the state are speaking out to send their condolences to the Austin-East community following the fatal shooting on Monday.
A group of community members gathered Tuesday afternoon for a prayer circle near the school.
The Gibbs High School Counseling Department said Austin East is, “Always a welcoming place that pours love into kids.”
The Halls High School Boys Soccer team said, “no school should ever have to deal with this on top of everything else this past year.”
Dr. John Bartlett, the principal at Farragut High, asked the community to rally around Austin-East at this time.

Grace Christian Academy took to Instagram to share a message for those impacted by the shooting.
